Psychological stress can have serious complications, especially when caused by post traumatic stress. Over the last several years, in my capacity as a Mental Health Clinician, with EMDR training and advanced training in other forms of trauma counseling, I have worked passionately toward helping people rebuild their lives. The challenge to achieve balance comes from within each of us and my role as a therapist is to help remove the obstacles caused by trauma in a nonjudgmental way, helping patients to ultimately lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.
As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky with an Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I have concentrated my training in advanced EMDR and have been blown away time and again by the life changing effects of this highly effective modality. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a breakthrough therapy which allows for faster, more effective treatment with long lasting effects. Other than EMDR, as an existential counselor, I specialize in expressive arts, trauma sensitive body work, mindfulness and cognitive behavior therapy.
For about the past three years, I have been a therapist at the local rape crisis and child advocacy center. Now in addition to my own private practice, I have recently accepted the position as a therapist at the local domestic violence center. I also enjoy conducting community awareness trainings on the subjects of trauma and EMDR. Previously, I worked as case manager at the local community mental health center and helped severe cases of emotionally disabled children and their families.
Compassionate and non judgmental, I have a plethora of advanced training and experience to assist with trauma related psychological stress and its symptoms which include depression, anxiety and grief. I believe the experience of trauma and life’s various hardships is a subjective one and work diligently to provide individualized treatment to each person that I have to privilege to work with.
I am an expert in mental health, but you are the expert of you; together we can attain relief, balance and a fulfilling life for you!
